Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson got out on a second ball duck against Chennai Super Kings in the 17th match of the Indian Premier League 2023 at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium on Wednesday.

Ravindra Jadeja accounted for the wicket of Samson in the ninth over with a ripper of a delivery. Two balls earlier, Jadeja also took the vital wicket of Devdutt Padikkal, who was looking really well for his 38-run knock off 26 balls.

Notably, this isn’t the first time when Sanju Samson has been dismissed for a duck this season. Earlier, in the clash against Delhi Capitals, the Rajasthan skipper got out off Anrich Nortje. Overall, Samson has got out on a duck on 10 occasions.

The fans brutally trolled him after the Rajasthan skipper got out for another duck against CSK. Here’s a look at some of the reactions.

Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals, batting first, managed to score 175 runs in the first innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal (10 off 8) got out early but Buttler continued his fine run in the IPL.

He forged an important 77-run partnership for the 2nd wicket with Padikkal. The southpaw returned to form as he played a vital knock of 38 runs in 26 balls. In the same over, Jadeja also took the wicket of Samson to bring CSK back into the contest. Buttler was looking good and all set to play a big knock but Moeen Ali, eventually, got rid of him by castling his stumps in the 15th over.

Later, Ashwin (30 off 22) and Hetmyer (30 off 18) made vital contributions to take the team to a competitive total. CSK, in pursuit of the run-chase, haven’t played as good as they would have liked with the bat. At the time of writing, Chennai Super Kings have lost 4 wickets for 102 runs. Devon Conway is, currently, unbeaten on 43 off 35, while Ambati Rayudu has just come out to the crease. CSK need 73 runs to win the match in the final 6 overs.
