England and Australia squared off in a three-match series barely four days after they had won their second 20-20 World Cup title. Australia were too good for England on the day as they chased down the target of 288 very easily with bat in hand as they had 3.1 overs remaining. David Warner scored 86 off 84 balls and Steve Smith scored 80 off 78 balls.
During the match, Jos Buttler was engaged in some banter with Cameron Green who has been a revelation for Australia in recent matches, especially in the recent T20I series against India where he scored 118 runs in three matches with the highest score of 61. He had got these runs opening the batting.
When Liam Dawson bowled the third ball of the 41st over, Cameron Green looked to attack him and came down the pitch, but he could not hit the ball cleanly. "Good to see someone playing a shot, Daws," Buttler was heard saying on the stump mic. Coming to the next ball, he played a defensive shot after which Buttler screamed, "Chasing the ink, Dawes" and "big auction coming up"

Buttler was referring to the Indian T20 League auction that is slated to be held on December 23 in Kochi. A lot of reports are coming in that Cameron Green will be hot property in the auction considering his all-around abilities. Also, since there will be a scarcity of all-rounders in the mini-auction. Green has played 8 T20Is and has scored 139 runs so far and has picked up five wickets. Green has been a big sensation in Australian Cricket and has a wonderful career ahead of him.
In the first innings, England looked in disarray at 61-4, but Dawid Malan made headlines as he brought up a magnificent 134 off 128 balls with 12 fours and four sixes. This helped the Three Lions to get to 287-9 in their 50 overs. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3-55 in his 10 overs. Pat Cummins also was amongst the wickets as he scalped 3-62 in his 10 overs.
