One of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, John Cena is set to make is return at WrestleMania, according to the reports. Although it will not be in the expected match against Logan Paul, the fans are overjoyed to hear the news of one of the most anticipated returns in the world of WWE. Delighting his fans at the age of 45, the American professional wrestler will return at WrestleMania 39 where he will face United States champion Austin Theory.
This will be his first fight as a professional since 2017 and will take place on April 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. Cena and 25-year-old Theory faced off last night, with Cena initially rejecting Theory's invitation before agreeing to take him on.
Dave Meltzer, editor of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, confirmed that Cena will face Theory at Showcase of the Immortals, and not Logan Paul. Paul, a YouTuber turned wrestler, will face Seth Rollins instead, Meltzer added.
Cena made an emotional return to WWE
Meanwhile, the man with the most World Championship wins in the history made an emotional return to WWE on March 6. The American was seen in tears as he was met by the adulation of the crowd on Monday Night RAW in Boston.
Wearing a "Never Give Up" T-shirt and a black baseball cap, the wrestler, actor and former rapper said, referring to his friend:
"Stu has a day off.. He's a little older and needs some rest. Man you should be here to see this. This is good."
Cena's WWE return was adored by fans and many expressed it on their social media handles. A Twitter user wrote, "He spent years being booed so hard. Having the audience have that much love for him must be emotional."
One user said, "The show needs him," while another said, "He deserves it!" Love that man so much!"
Roman Reigns vs Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship will be a going to be a tight clash. Brock Lesnar's clash with Omos, while Logan Paul vs Seth Rollins will also be a match to watch.
