Sunrisers Hyderabad have registered a thrilling victory over Rajasthan Royals by 4 wickets from the jaws of defeat in match number 52 of IPL 2023 at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium in Jaipur. Batting first, RR posted a big total of 214 for the loss of 2 wickets. In reply, SRH claimed an unbelievable victory in the last ball of the match as they scored 217 runs losing 6 wickets in their 20 overs.

RR got a flying start as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Jos Buttler added 54 runs for the first wicket in five overs. Jaiswal got out after scoring quickfire 35 runs off 18 balls with five fours and two sixes. After that Buttler and the skipper Sanju Samson put up a partnership of 138 runs for the second wicket.

Buttler fell short of his century by just 5 runs as he got out after scoring 95 runs off 59 balls hitting 10 fours and four sixes. While Samson remained unbeaten after scoring 66 off 38 balls with four fours and five sixes. For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Marco Jansen shared a wicket each.

Chasing the winning total, SRH also got a fine start as Anmolpreet Singh (33 off 25) and Abhishek Sharma added 51 runs for the first in 5.5 overs. After that, Abhishek added 65 runs with Rahul Tripathi for the second wicket. Abhishek got out after scoring 55 runs off 34 balls hitting five fours and two sixes. While Tripathi scored 47 off 29 balls with two fours and three sixes.

Glenn Phillips turned the match in the penultimate over

After that, SRH kept losing wickets at regular intervals and need 42 runs off the last two overs. Glenn Phillips smashed Kuldip Yadav for three consecutive sixes and a four on the first four balls of the over. Phillips got out after smashing 27 off just 7 balls turning things in SRHโ€™s favour. Kuldip conceded 24 runs in the penultimate over and now they needed 17 runs off the last six balls to win.

Abdul Samad and Marco Jansen took charge in the last over by Sandeep Sharma and the match went down to the last ball where SRH needed 5 runs to win. Samad tried hitting the full-length delivery by Sandeep but ended up giving a catch to Buttler at long off. It looked like RR won the game but then the twist came. Sandeep overstepped and it was given a no-ball. Now SRH got a free hit and Abdul Samad smashed it for a six to give his team one of the most thrilling victories in IPL history.

For RR, Yuzvendra Chahal scalped 4 wickets by conceding 29 runs in his four over. While Kuldip Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin shared a wicket each.
