India and Australia are in action in the fourth and final Test of the coveted Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) series. India lead the series 2-1 after registering comprehensive victories in the first two Tests in Nagpur and Delhi. However, they come into the decisive Test against the backdrop of an embarrassing defeat in Indore.

A lot is at stake in this final Test of the BGT 2023 series. Firstly, the hosts can cement a position in the final of the Test Championships to be played at the Oval from 7 to 11 June 2023. Secondly, they are also hunting for a hat-trick of Test series win against the Kangaroos, having won the last two BGT series in Australia. On the other hand, the visitors would want to avoid the embarrassment of losing three consecutive Tests against the Men in Blue. However, the hosts have at least completed their first objective, having retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with an unassailable 2-1 lead.

During the final session on Day 3, when Virat Kohli completed his fifty, the Indian dugout rose to appreciate the batter. Among all in the dugout, Ishan Kishan had the funniest reaction. He joined his hands, making the 'Namaste' gesture to Kohli. Fans, however, were quicker to notice KL Rahul sitting beside Kishan, who seemed lost in the moment. In the viral photos, Rahul is seen not even clapping to appreciate Kohli's innings. Naturally, fans were quick to take a dig at the out-of-form batter.

Speaking of Day 3, India closes out at 289/3 at stumps, still trailing Australia's first-innings total by 191 runs. Shubman Gill remained the hosts' uncontested star of the Day, scoring 128 off 235. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja are out on the crease, scoring 59* off 128 and 16* off 54, respectively. For the men from down under, the three spinners- Nathan Lyon, Matthew Kuhnemann and Todd Murphy have all struck once. Surprisingly, their pacers have not yet impacted the game.

If India fails to win the ongoing Test, they'll have to wait for the results of the ongoing Test series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. If the Island nation fails to win the series against the Kiwis, India can still qualify for the Test Championship final of the 2021-23 cycle.
