The Indian team missed the services of Jasprit Bumrah and Harshal Patel in the Asia Cup 2022. The duo was ruled out due to injury and they underwent rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore.

The Sports Tak has now reported that the two are fit and are all set to play the 20-20 World Cup 2022. The tournament is all set to get underway in October. The fans are keeping their fingers crossed to send all their luck to the Men in Blue.

Speaking of the Indian team, they lacked a proper death bowler to lift the team. India leaked many runs at the death and Avesh Khan even conceded more than fifty runs in the match against Hong Kong. The fans immediately tagged Jasprit Bumrah on Twitter and requested his return to the Indian squad.

It was earlier reported that the squad for the 20-20 World Cup will be announced on September 15. It remains to see if Avesh Khan would be a part of the squad.

Ricky Ponting heaps praise on Jasprit Bumrah

India had a poor run in the Asia Cup 2022. They got off to a good start against Pakistan and Hong Kong in the group stage. However, things took a drastic turn in the Super 4 round of the tournament. Although they tried to take the match till the last over on most occasions, the team fell apart due to inconsistency. Many others felt that the team missed the services of Jasprit Bumrah.

Ricky Ponting heaped praise on the Indian fast bowler and said that India will be threatening with Bumrah getting back into the squad.

"He (Bumrah) is probably the most complete bowler across Test cricket, One Day cricket and T20 cricket in the world right now. Very good with the new ball when anyone decides to use him that way," he said to Cricket's governing body.

“India might think of giving him an over with the new ball in Australia (at the T20 World Cup) where it might swing but what you can guarantee is a couple of great high quality death overs, which every team is looking for – someone that can execute slow balls and bouncers," Ponting was quoted as saying.
