Indian cricket captain Rohit Sharma visited Tirupati Balaji Temple with his family. He is currently taking a break from international cricket after the three-match ODI series against West Indies. He was a part of the playing XI in the first ODI of the series before being given rest in the second and third ODI.

The 36-year-old will be in action with Team India in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, starting from the 30^th of August later this month. The Men in Blue, under the captaincy of Rohit, will start their campaign in the tournament with their first match against the arch-rivals, Pakistan on the 2^nd of September next month.

Rohit Sharma nearing a milestone in his ODI career

Rohit Sharma is just 173 runs away from the milestone of 10,000 runs in the ODI format. He has scored 9837 runs in 237 innings of 244 matches in his career so far. In these appearances, he has scored 30 centuries and 48 half-centuries. He might achieve this amazing milestone of 10,000 runs in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

Currently, Team India in the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma is playing in the ongoing five-match T20I series against West Indies, under the captaincy of stand-in skipper Hardik Pandya. They levelled the series by 2-2 with a massive win against the hosts in the fourth T20I of the five-match T20I series. Now, both teams will lock horns in the series decider T20I at the Central Broward Stadium in Lauderhill of Florida.

The Indian selectors are also concerned about the combination of Team India for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023. The number 4 batting slot is one of the major questions confronting the Indian management owing to the two major international tournaments including the likes of Asia Cup 2023 and ODI World Cup 2023.
