Pakistani cricketer Shadab Khan took a jibe at Ajith Agarkar's fake spread news of mentioning Virat Kohli when asked by reporters about Pakistani bowlers. While the Asia Cup 2023 will kick off on August 30, the most anticipated clash will be on September 2 between India and Pakistan. It is pertinent to mention that Ajit Agarkar is now the chief selector of the Indian Cricket Board.

Virat Kohli was the epitome of the Indian team's last match win against Pakistan

Kohli was responsible for India's victory over Pakistan in the 2022 T20 World Cup, league stage matches, as the star Indian batter played one of the iconic knocks with his 82* off 53 balls while chasing a 160-run target. The fans would be expecting Kohli to perform in the upcoming Asia Cup as well as at the last T20 World Cup in Australia. The Pakistani leg spinner responded when asked about Agarkar's alleged statement, Shadan said that it’s only on that particular day that he will come to know what happens.

"Dekhiye, ye depend karta hai on a day. Main ya koi aur, ya unki taraf se koi aisa bol de, to bolne se kuch nahi hota, kuch change nahi hota. Jab match hoga, match mein jo cheezein nazar ayengi, asal cheez wahi hoti hai (See, it all depends on what happens that day. Me or someone else, or someone from their side, can say whatever they want. It doesn't make any difference. When the match takes place, then only we'll get to know what is the reality)," Shadab said to the reporter's question.

In the recently concluded ODI series, the Pakistan cricket team totally outplayed the Afghanistan side in the three-match ODI series by 3-0. Apart from the nail-biting second ODI, there was not any resistance shown by the Afghan side in the limited-overs series. Pakistani leg spinner Shadab picked up three wickets before, In the first innings, star wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan scored 67 off 79 balls. It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan's side has now reclaimed No. 1 in the ODI rankings after this series win, as they reached this position in May 2023.
