The eagerly awaited 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar is slated to start on November 20. The fans are waiting with bated breath as to what plans are being chalked out for the opening ceremony of the showpiece event. There have been a lot of speculations and rumours on what the lineup for the opening ceremony would look like.

No celebrity has locked their name for the event and no comment on the same has been made by any of the celebrities. But we can give a potential list of candidates that could perform in the opening ceremony. A tweet, recently, came up which was posted by the World Music awards but in a short time, the tweet was taken down as well.

The tweet read,

"Shakira gets ready for her World Cup Comeback on November 20 at the FIFA World Cup 2022 opening ceremony at the Al-Bayt Stadium, Al Khor, Qatar with BTS, Black Eyed Peas, Dua Lipa, J Balvin, Bollywood Star Nora Fatehi & Nigerian singing sensation Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie!"

The Green signal was given by only one celebrity, who is popular in the Korean Drama circles and a sensation in BTS, Jung Kook. Then came another confirmation from the official Twitter handle of BTS. Big Hit Music, later, also sent out a confirmation that he will be there.

"Proud to announce that Jung Kook is part of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Soundtrack & will perform at the World Cup opening ceremony. Stay tuned!"

Meanwhile, Pop singing sensation Dua Lia has dismissed all speculations of wanting to perform at the FIFA World Cup. She confirmed the same through her Instagram account.

“There is currently a lot of speculation that I will be performing at the opening ceremony of the world cup in Qatar. I will not be performing and nor have I ever been involved in any negotiation to perform. I will be cheering England on from afar and I look forward to visiting Qatar when it has fulfilled all the human rights pledges it made when it won the right to host the World Cup. One love, Dua x”

Other than the two above, who said no to performing in the mega event, J Balvin, Bollywood Star Nora Fatehi & Nigerian singing sensation Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie have also not yet given the green signal on taking part in the event.
