In a horrific incident, Mohammad Hafeez was subjected to robbery and was reportedly stolen a huge amount from his residence. According to reports, thieves broke into the allrounder's house on late Sunday night and fled with money worth over USD 20,000 and other valuables.
Hafeez, who currently plays for Quetta Gladiators in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and his wife were not at home at the time of the incident. However, the footage of the shocking incident is not available on CCTV. Hafeez's uncle-in-law Shahid Iqbal lodged a police complaint.
The former Pakistan captain retired from international cricket on January 3, 2023 and is currently playing in the PSL. He scored 1730 runs in the Pakistan T20 League and is the third highest run-scorer in the history of the tournament. The versatile batter played 55 Test matches and scored 3652 runs in the longest format of the game. Hafeez has scored 6614 runs including 10 centuries in ODIs and 2514 runs from 119 T20Is.
Jason Roy's stunning century, Hafeez's quick fire led Gladiators to a massive victory
It was an absolute visual treat for the fans in Rawalpindi as boundaries and sixes rained down in the encounter between Peshawar Zalmi and Quetta Gladiators yesterday, March 9. After openers Saim Ayub and Babar Azam played a brilliant innings, Zalmi posted a massive score of 240 runs on the board. But a blistering reply from the Gladiators as Jason Roy overcame the target in just 18.2 overs with an aggressive innings to guide his side to a record win.
Who would have thought that Zalmi would lose the match after their captain scored 115 off 65 balls and Ayub 74 off 34 balls. But history was scripted yesterday after Roy's stunning performance (145 off 63 balls) and Hafeez's quick fire of 41 runs off 18 balls led Gladiators to the third-highest chase in T20 history. Mohammad Nawaz-led team have hit a total of 30 fours and 10 sixes overall - becoming the first team in PSL history to do so. Having played one of the best T20 innings ever, the Gladiators are still alive in the tournament.
