The Pakistani pacer, Haris Rauf, recently, shared his experience of receiving a jersey of the Chennai-based Indian T20 League team from the former Indian captain, MS Dhoni. The speedster went on to share his experience of talking to MS Dhoni, shedding light on the humble nature of the bashing batter from Ranchi. MS Dhoni was the Indian cricket team's mentor in the last edition of the 20-20 World Cup held in 2021, which was hosted by UAE and Oman.
India locked horns with Pakistan in their first game and got thrashed as Pakistan defeated the former by 10 wickets. This marked their first-ever win against India in a World Cup. The Virat-led Indian Team faced a lot of backlash and criticism for their poor approach in the tournament. Amid this chaos, Haris Rauf has revealed an incident that might lighten the hearts of the Indian fans.
"I met MS Dhoni after the game against India in T20 WC 2021, I asked him to give me one of his Chennai jerseys - he told me that he will surely send me and I received it when I was in Australia - it was nice of him", Haris Rauf told Grade Cricketer. This comes as a respite to the Indian cricket fans who are still yet to get out of that defeat. India will once again lock horns with Pakistan in the upcoming T20 World Cup to be held in Australia. And they would be hoping to give Pakistan a sweet taste of their own medicine to make up for the loss last year.
Haris Rauf attracted a lot of attention with his performance in the Australian-based franchise tournament, i.e., the Big Bash League and from there on, he went on to represent the Pakistan National Team in 13 ODIs and 35 T20 Internationals. The pacer has so far been the go-to player for the Pakistan Cricket Team in recent years. The pacer has 65 international wickets so far in his bag. He would hope to continue the form for many more years to come.
