Indian Cricket is famous for producing high-quality players throughout its history from the famous spin quartet who won India their maiden England and West Indies tours in 1971 and then to Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli they have all been and are great servants of the Indian Team.
Two other players from this huge pipeline players have been Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan. The two brothers were part of India’s maiden 20-20 World Cup win in 2007. Irfan picked up 10 wickets with his Best bowling figures being 3-16 in the final against Pakistan. While Yusuf scored a quickfire 15 runs that threw the Pakistan bowlers off and helped India to reach a target of 157-5 which India eventually won by 5 runs in a final that went down to the wire. On his 40th birthday, Irfan took to Twitter to put a heartfelt birthday wish for his brother.

Irfan and Yusuf had very good careers for India as Yusuf went on to lift another World Cup title in 2011. Irfan played 120 ODI matches where he scored 1544 runs and picked up 173 wickets. He played 50 over cricket for 8 years from 2004 to 2012. He was earmarked by Greg Chappell as one of the upcoming stars in Indian Cricket when he was the coach in 2007.

Yusuf played ODI cricket for four years and scored 810 runs at an average of 27. He scored two hundreds in the limited number of games that he played. His moment in the sun was when he hit a match-winning 123 against New Zealand which came off 96 balls in Bengaluru. He had an unforgettable match and also picked up 3-49 with the ball as well.
When it comes to the Indian T20 League, he was part of three title-winning campaigns in 2008, 2012 and 2014. One title for Rajasthan and two titles for Kolkata. He has scored 3204 runs in 172 matches. He has also picked up 42 wickets in an 11-year career. The brothers will have built a huge legacy in the echelons of Indian Cricket.
