Following Pakistan’s semi-final win against New Zealand, India’s former cricketer, Irfan Pathan took a dig at Pakistan fans with a controversial tweet. However, later, he also issued a clarification on the same after being criticized by the fans on social media.

Pakistan won the semi-final match against New Zealand by 7 wickets on Wednesday in Sydney. The fans and the former cricketers congratulated the Pakistan Cricket Team for the famous win and for reaching the finals. However, a section of Pakistan fans came up with adverse reactions as they trolled the Indian fans badly.

This didn’t go down well with Irfan Pathan and he took a dig at them with a controversial remark.

“Padosiyon jeet ati jaati rehti hai, lekin GRACE apke bas ki baat nahi hai.” Irfan Pathan wrote on his Twitter handle.

However, later, he also clarified that his tweet wasn’t meant for the cricketers but for the fans.

Talking about the game, Pakistan bowled extremely well to restrict New Zealand to 152 runs in the first innings. New Zealand didn’t make a great start to their innings as they had lost both the openers for just 38 runs in the first 6 overs.

Kane Williamson and Daryl Mitchell stitched a 68-run partnership for the fourth wicket to steady the ship. However, the New Zealand skipper got out just when it was time to change the gears. Mitchell stayed unbeaten and went on to smash a half-century, helping the team reach a reasonable score on the board.

Shaheen Afridi starred with the ball for Pakistan as he claimed 2 for 24 in 4 overs. The total didn’t prove enough for New Zealand as Pakistan chased it down comfortably in 19.1 overs. Babar Azam and M Rizwan returned to form with a 100-run partnership. Both notched respective half-centuries and helped the team lay a strong foundation.

Trent Boult accounted for the wicket of Babar Azam (53) in the 13th over and Rizwan (57 off 43) in the 17th over but the duo had done their job by then. M Harris, yet again, played a vital knock of 30 runs in 26 balls, helping the team register a comfortable win in the end.
