The Hundred Men's tournament is being played in England these days. The fifth match of the tournament (August 4) saw Southern Brave and Welsh Fire face off. Southern Braves registered a thrilling 2 run win in a match that went till the last ball. England all-rounder Chris Jordan blew his mind by playing a fiery half-century innings. He single-handedly put out the smoke of the Welsh fire.

Chris Jordan hit an exciting 70 off 32 balls to help Southern Brave earn its first Hundred victory of 2023 after defeating Welsh Fire by two runs in a nail-biter. England's Jordan took Brave from 56-6 to 147-8 with seven sixes and three fours.

Chris Jordan shines with an all-round performance

After 76 balls, Brave had lost eight wickets and was staring down the barrel of an ugly sub-100 total. With 3-27, fast bowler Rauf was the major architect of the home side's woes, picking up Finn Allen caught behind off a bouncer, bowling George Garton, and bouncing James Fuller out.

Jordan had only scored eight runs off 14 balls when Ahmed was run out, but the experienced all-rounder then grabbed centre stage, thumping Rauf down the ground for his maiden six, quickly progressing to 22 off 19 balls, while Roelof van der Merwe's left arm spin bearing the weight of three consecutive sixes.

His fifty came up in 26 balls. He hit two more sixes and 19 runs off the last five balls and took the stand with Overton to 71 in 25 balls, with Jordan contributing 62 of them. Willey scored eight off the first four balls of the last set but needing three off the last he was caught at point as the ground bounced.

The Hundred continues on Saturday with four more games. The men's and women's sides of Manchester Originals and London Spirit will meet at Old Trafford, while Birmingham Phoenix and Trent Rockets also clash at Edgbaston. There will be a double-header that will provide a day full of action, with the first match beginning at 11 am, and the final fixture getting underway at 6 pm.
