The PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board) also unveiled their lineup for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 in addition to the team's upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The governing body of cricket in Pakistan has announced an 18-player team will play Afghanistan from August 22 to August 26 and then will also be playing in the Asia Cup.

In addition to it, the squad will be then reduced to 15 players for the Asia Cup, which will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan and is scheduled to start on August 30. The defending champions of the competition, Sri Lanka, defeated Pakistan in the Asia Cup final game to secure their sixth title. Pakistan's team, which will be playing at home, will definitely try to win the trophy this time around as they have a solid team for the competition.

The Pakistan team seems to have covered all the bases with the team that they have selected and they also look a formidable side to win the Asia Cup. The PCB, which is renowned for careful selection, has put together a powerful roster by combining seasoned veterans and up-and-coming talent to create a team that is well-balanced and capable of competing at the highest level. Cricket fans are debating the selections made by the selectors in response to the squad announcement.

It is quite obvious that Babar Azam will be leading the team along with Shadab Khan who is appointed as the vice-captain of the team.
