Top five players who could go unsold during IPL 2024 Auctions

The IPL 2024 Auction is just a month away and there is wide anticipation about the players who could be released or retained by the ten teams. Each of the teams are set to cut the players they do not want or feel is an extra in the tournament.

Ben Stokes is one of the names that is heavily rumored to be out of the Chennai Super Kings team. The English test skipper is set to undergo surgery soon which is set to keep him out of action for a long time.

In this list let us take a look at the top five players who could find themselves going unsold during the IPL 2024 Auctions.

Manish Pandey –

The 34-year-old last played for Delhi Capitals during the IPL 2023 season. Manish Pandey could find himself going unsold after his less-than-impressive performances in recent times. The right-handed batter is a veteran of 170 matches and scored 3808 runs with one century and 22 half-centuries. Manish Pandey is the first Indian to score an IPL century when he achieved the feat for RCB during the 2009 IPL season versus Delhi Capitals.

Litton Das –

The Bangladeshi dashing opener played just one game for KKR and scored just 4 runs with the bat. The 29-year-old then flew back home to be part of his country’s international commitments. Despite his skills as a batter, Litton Das may not find many takers during the IPL 2024 auctions due to his inconsistent form lately.

Joe Root –

England’s run-machine made his IPL debut last year with Rajasthan Royals and played just three games. Joe Root is most likely on the chopping block and might not find a buyer during the IPL 2024 auctions. Despite his tall run-scoring for England across formats, Joe Root found it tough to get a game in the IPL and wasn’t impressive after getting his chances.

Dinesh Karthik –

After enjoying a fine 2022 season, Dinesh Karthik found his way back into the Indian team setup. The IPL 2023 season was a huge disappointment for the veteran RCB player which could see him getting released. With advancing age and lack of cricket behind him, Dinesh Karthik might miss the bus during the IPL 2024 auctions.

Deepak Hooda –

One of the few Indian players to score a century in T20I cricket, Deepak Hooda found the going tough in the 2023 season. The 28-year-old had a miserable season for Lucknow Super Giants which could see him on the chop block. The Rajasthan-based cricketer is most likely to go unsold during the IPL 2024 auctions in December.
