The ODI World Cup 2023 has been keeping the cricket fans on the tenterhooks. Once the tournament gets over on the 19th of November the focus will shift to the upcoming IPL 2024 Auctions.

The Indian Cricket Board has earmarked 26th November as the day for all ten teams to give the final list of their released and retained players. It has also been confirmed that the IPL Auctions will be held in Dubai on the 19th of December.

Let's look at players from each IPL franchise

1. Chennai Super Kings – Ben Stokes, Kyle Jamieson, and Bhagath Varma

The MS Dhoni-led side won their fifth IPL title by beating Gujarat Titans in an epic clash in Ahmedabad. Unfortunately, Ben Stokes and Kyle Jamieson could be released. Ben Stokes was bought for a massive price and played just a handful of games. Jamieson meanwhile had to pull out before the start of the IPL 2023 season due to injury.

2. Gujarat Titans – Matthew Wade, Dasun Shanaka, and KS Bharat

Matthew Wade could be one of the leading players to be let go by the Gujarat Titans. Sri Lanka’s all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is another player who could part ways with the Titans. Speaking of Indian talent KS Bharat could be released to bring in younger wicket-keeping talent.

3. Mumbai Indians – Sandeep Warrier, Riley Meredith, and Chris Jordan

Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians are likely to release all the three pace bowlers who signed on as replacement players. Riley Meredith and Chris Jordan did not provide the solution to the death overs bowling woes for Mumbai. The five-time champions could look for a complete revamp to their fast-bowling resources.

4. Royal Challengers Bangalore – Dinesh Karthik, Wayne Parnell, and Finn Allen

One of the biggest names who could be released ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions is none other than veteran India star Dinesh Karthik. Overseas players Wayne Parnell and Finn Allen could be released but later bought back during the auctions.

5. Kolkata Knight Riders – Litton Das, David Wiese, and N.Jagadeesan

Shreyas Iyer led Kolkata Knight Riders could let go of Bangladeshi star Litton Das. The right-handed- batter couldn’t justify the price for him during the 2023 auctions.  David Wiese could be another international player who could be on his way out of the Eden Gardens. N. Jagadeesan could be the Indian talent on his way out of KKR.

6. Punjab Kings – Matthew Short, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, and Harpreet Bhatia

One team that may look for a complete overhaul is Punjab Kings. Australian player Mathew Short and Sri Lankan Bhanuka Rajapaksa could be let go by the franchise ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions.

7. Rajasthan Royals – Joe Root, Donovan Ferreira, and Murugan Ashwin

The biggest player on the chopping block ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions is none other than Joe Root. The former English skipper played a handful of games for Rajasthan Royals but didn’t impress much.

8. Delhi Capitals – Rovman Powell, Mustafizur Rahman, and Manish Pandey

Out of favour, Indian star Manish Pandey might be on the move again ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. Joining him in the auction list could be West Indian player Rovman Powell and Bangladeshi Mustafizur Rahman.

9. Lucknow Super Giants – Daniel Sams, Karun Nair, and Swapnil Singh

One does not expect the Lucknow franchise to let go of any big names ahead of the IPL 2024 auctions. The fringe stars both Indian and international could be let go to make room for other players in the squad.

10. Sunrisers Hyderabad – Harry Brook, Adil Rashid, and Samarth Vyas

Despite being brought for a huge sum of money during the IPL 2023 auctions, Harry Brook couldn’t do much with the bat. Barring his ton against KKR the Englishman had a season to forget. Adil Rashid is also likely to be released ahead of the IPL 2024 auction along with local Indian talent Samarth Vyas.
