The big auctions for the IPL 2024 season is approaching and there is already a huge setback for the fans. As per reports, a famous player is set to miss the upcoming season of the Indian T20 League.
All the teams and players will be picked up in Dubai, which is the venue for the auction of IPL 20244. As per reports, a total of 590 players have been shortlisted to be bought ahead of the next season of IPL.
The Australian trio of Travis Head, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc have put up their name for the Auction process. The three players were part of the successful Australian team which recently won the ODI World Cup 2023 tournament.
Star Player set to miss the IPL 2024 season –
Ben Stokes, England’s test skipper will not be playing the IPL 2024 season. As per reports doing the rounds, the 32-year-old has taken this decision due to his fitness concerns. Workload Management is also cited as a reason for Ben Stokes to come up with this decision.
Chennai Super Kings as per the sources were going to release the England international after his injury-riddled season in 2023. MS Dhoni and his side had forked out a huge sum for the England all-rounder who ended up playing just two games for the eventual winners.
England is set to tour India early 2024 for a five-match test series and Ben Stokes is going to be leading the side during the tour. The England all-rounder had claimed that he wants his knee to be fixed in time for the upcoming tour of India.
An official statement from Chennai Super Kings was made soon after Ben Stokes made his decision public. The Statement read “The Chennai Super Kings management is supportive of Ben in his decision to manage the workload with England playing a 5-match Test Series in India before the IPL and then the T20 World Cup in June 2024”
