India’s dream to lift a trophy in a major event will have to wait for another year. As their dreams came crashing down in a crushing 10-wicket defeat to England. The Men in Blue failed to turn up for the big game as they were kept down to just 168-6 in their 20 overs. Adil Rashid just went for 20 runs in his four overs and picked up the big wicket of Suryakumar Yadav.

In the bowling department, the group failed to fire as a unit as they could not break an unbeaten 170-run stand between Jos Butler and Alex Hales, who made sure that England chased down the target with four overs to spare. The Opening pair were very severe on the Indian bowlers as they did not allow them to settle into any sort of rhythm.

Now, after the 20-20 World Cup exit, fans were quick to lambast the cricketers for not turning up for the big game and that the Indian T20 League is the main factor that led India to underperform in the big game. The fans have said that the Indian Players have used the Indian T20 League to only get fat paychecks instead of bettering their game.

The fans were also quick to point out that when a player from India plays for their respective Indian T20 League franchises they are prepared to brave injury and do whatever it takes to win for their side, but when it comes to the Indian Team, the talk of taking breaks surfaces which has also angered the fans.

Wasim Akram also commented on this issue when he said that there should be a salary cap, when it comes to the Indian T20 League, so that the players realise the value of money and that if he had such a large amount of money in hand, then he would start taking himself lightly. Many fans believe the way to go further is to boycott the Indian T20 League so that the Indian players come back to their senses.

There have been trends on Twitter about boycotting the Indian T20 League, let us take a look at the reactions here-
