Indian Cricket Board announce squads for T20I and ODI series against England

The Indian Cricket Board announced the squad for the upcoming T20 and ODI series against England on Thursday. India are scheduled to play 3-match T20 series and a 3-match ODI series after the fifth Test at Edgbaston, Birmingham.

Captain Rohit Sharma will make a comeback to the team after missing out on the rescheduled fifth Test due to testing positive for Covid 19. The board has announced two teams for the T20I series. In the first T20, the Indian board included the players from the recently concluded T20 series against Ireland.

The senior players like Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Jasprit Bumrah will be back in the team from the second T20 international. ‘Player of the series’ of the Ireland series, Deepak Hooda has been included in the squad for all the three T20Is.

Ravi Bishnoi, Umran Malik, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan have also been selected for all the three T20 internationals. Seamer, Mohammad Shami has been excluded from the squad as there were speculations of him not being considered for this year’s 20-20 World Cup.

Shikhar Dhawan retains his spot in the ODI squad, while Arshdeep Singh has got his maiden ODI call-up. Meanwhile, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been dropped from the squad.
