The fifth Test match between India and England will finally get underway on 1st July 2022. The fans have had to wait for a long time to get the final result of the series. The rescheduled Test is expected to be played from 1st to 5th July and one can expect it to be one cracker of a contest.
Indian Team
India had an upper-hand over England last year as they were playing without their star all-rounder Ben Stokes and opening bowler Stuart Broad. However, both have returned to the team and the likes of Jonny Bairstow, Ollie Pope and Joe Root are in outstanding form with the bat.
The leading run-scorers from the Indian team in the series so far, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul are likely to miss the Test Match. Rahul is out due to an injury while Sharma was tested positive for Covid and his chances of playing the Test aren't very high.
Star batter Virat Kohli’s recent form is a huge concern for the team as Kohli along with Cheteshwar Pujara are the two most experienced players in the squad. The team will desperately need big scores from these two batters.
The absence of Rohit Sharma would mean that a new opener would be needed by the team which would mean either Mayank Aggarwal or Hanuma Vihari could open the innings for the team. The bowling department looks sorted with Shami, Bumrah and Siraj being the seamers and Ravindra Jadeja and Shardul Thakur filling in as all-rounders.
Probable Playing XI: Shubman Gill, 2 Hanuma Vihari, 3 Cheteshwar Pujara, 4 Virat Kohli, 5 Shreyas Iyer, 6 Rishabh Pant (wk), 7 Ravindra Jadeja, 8 Shardul Thakur, 9 Mohammed Shami, 10 Jasprit Bumrah, 11 Mohammad Siraj.
England Team
England look a completely different team from last year under the leadership of Ben Stokes and coach Brendon Mccullum. They have just whitewashed the world Test champions New Zealand by 3-0 in dramatic fashion as they chased targets in excess of 275 in the fourth innings in all of the matches of the series.
The likes of Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ollie Pope are in magnificent form. The bowling also looks settled with James Anderson coming leading the pack.
Probable Playing XI: Zak Crawley, 2 Alex Lees, 3 Ollie Pope, 4 Joe Root, 5 Jonny Bairstow, 6 Ben Stokes, 7 Ben Foakes / Sam Billings (wk), 8 Jamie Overton / Jack Leach, 9 Stuart Broad / Jack Leach, 10 Matthew Potts, 11 James Anderson.

Pitch Report
The average score batting first in a Test match at Edgbaston is 308. Team batting first will be eager to get to 300 runs on the board. Captain winning the toss would like to bat first as there are minimal chances of rain on the morning of Day 1.
