Team India will have their next assignment against Bangladesh which will consist of three ODIs and two Test matches. This is an important series for India in the build-up to the 2023 ODI World Cup which will be held in India. This series will see the return of the senior players such as Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.
The Men in Blue will want to get some rhythm going after they lost the ODI series to New Zealand 1-0. Rohit will be leading the side after he took a break after the 20-20 World Cup in Australia and did not play in the New Zealand series. He will want to get a good result from the series as his captaincy has been under the scanner in recent times, following the shock semi-final exit at the 20-20 World Cup.
Kohli, on the other hand, has been in superb form in the T20 format as he, recently, scored his maiden T20 century in the format against Afghanistan at the Asia Cup 2022 and also was India’s highest scorer in the 20-20 World Cup. He had scored 296 runs from six innings in Australia at an average of 98.66 and a strike rate of 136.40.
The senior players will be back for India against Bangladesh
Kohli will be looking to continue his good form in the ODIs and Test matches as well. Bangladesh, on the other hand, would be looking to prove a point against India. The Bangla Tigers have played against India in 11 Tests, 11 T20Is and 36 ODIs. India have never lost a Test match against Bangladesh. When it comes to the ODIs, Bangladesh have beaten India on five occasions.
