After clinching the T20I series against Sri Lanka, the ‘Men-in-Blue’ will look to seal the ODI series and get a blazing start on their road to the ODI World Cup 2023. Rohit Sharma’s men have already got a win under their belt in the first ODI and will look to seal the deal in the second match on Thursday. With several star players set to take the field in the series, records are expected to get shattered. 1 Mohammed Shami can enter the top 10 highest wicket-takers from India in ODIs

Mohammed Shami has been one of the consistent performers for team India across formats. The fast bowler has got praise from former South African seamer Dale Steyn who rated his seam position to be the best in the world. Having picked up 153 wickets from 83 matches at an average of 25.99 and economy of 5.62, Shami is just four wickets away from entering the list of the top 10 highest wicket-takers from India in ODIs. Currently, he’s on 13th position behind Sachin Tendulkar who has 154 wickets to his name.

2 Rohit Sharma can become only the fourth batter to score 30 ODI hundreds

Indian Captain Rohit Sharma started the series in grand fashion with a magnificent knock of 83 off 67 balls. The opener has now gone for almost three years without scoring an ODI hundred with his last century coming against Australia on 19 January 2020. The ‘Hitman’ will be eager to end his century drought in the upcoming two ODIs and become just the fourth player in ODI history to score 30 tons after Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and Ricky Ponting.

3 Virat Kohli can become the fifth-highest run scorer in ODIs

Virat Kohli started his series with a bang as he scored a scintillating hundred in the first match. Kohli is currently on the sixth spot in the list of highest run-getters in ODI with 12,584 runs to his name. He’s only 66 runs behind Mahela Jayawardene who has 12,650 runs under his belt. With two matches remaining in the series, the King of the modern era will surely claim the fifth spot soon.
