Road Safety World Series is on, with legends from all over the world trying their hands on the game yet again. Fans, on the other hand, are thrilled and excited for every single match to watch their stars play. In match five of the Road Safety World Series, England Legends and Sri Lanka Legends played against each other. Tillakaratne Dilshan won the toss and elected to field first at Green Park, Kanpur.

Speaking of the powerplay, the English veterans got off to a poor start and managed only 25 runs inside thirty balls. The likes of Ian Bell, Darren Maddy and Tim Ambrose crumbled quickly to put England in a tough position after ten overs. The Sri Lankan Legends played a classic in their last match against Australia Legends and thumped the Aussies.

Further wrath from the island nation bowlers made it tough for the Three Lions batters. Sri Lanka Legends bowled out England Legends for just 78 runs with one over to spare. Sanath Jayasuriya turned out to be the hero with the ball as he bagged a four-for after conceding only three runs.

Sri Lanka thump England within fifteen overs

As far as the second innings is concerned, it was all about Sri Lanka veterans. Fans predicted the match to be a one-sided affair and it did turn out to be true. Dilshan Munaweera and skipper Tillakaratne Dilshan played a few decent shots and returned back to the pavilion for 24 and 15, respectively.

Sri Lanka had a decent powerplay as they remained at 24 after losing Dilshan's wicket. Chasing down a meagre total, it was easy for Munaweera and Tharanga to settle down and keep nicking the ball. Teams batting second have been winning the matches at Kanpur and it is becoming a ritual to chase it down. Teams nowadays mostly prefer bowling first as it gives them the best results.  Sri Lanka Legends thumped England Legends within fifteen overs and with seven wickets to spare.
