India are facing off against New Zealand in the T20I series and post the conclusion of the contest, Rohit Sharma and men will take on Australia for a four-match Test series slated on February 9. That being said, several Australian players are engaged in the Big Bash League 2022/23 (BBL 12) although the tournament is in the playoff stage.

Ahead of the Tests against India, star Australian batter David Warner opened up on the schedule and said that it has been tiring and exhausting for him due to the hectic schedule. Further, Warner revealed his idea to skip the CA Awards ahead of the much-awaited Tests against Rohit and his men, as it would be an important series for the Baggy Greens.

Further, Warner added that he played in the ongoing BBL 12 to add morale to the Sydney Thunders camp. For the unversed, the Thunders are out of the league and it remains to be seen if the veteran would fare out well against India, given that he is coming off a hectic season ahead of what can be called the next important series for Australia after the Ashes.

For me, it was about coming back: David Warner

Warner highlighted the hectic summer ahead, given that they have to head back to the Indian sub-continent later this year to take part in the 50-over World Cup. The Australian opener said that he would try his best to remain afresh and get things sorted to manage his workload.

“It's been challenging. I'm quite tired and exhausted. A few guys have gone to the UAE League but aren't attending the Cricket Australia awards. From my perspective, it would have been nice to have had another night at home. But it is what it is. You're not really trying to negate the spinning ball, it's a white ball as well,” Warner was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

“For me, it was about coming back and trying to inject some energy into the Thunder team and trying to put my best foot forward for the team. It hasn't come off this year. Hopefully, next year I can come out and be fresher than I am now. It will be a long lead-in to our summer (that includes the ODI World Cup in India). From a personal point of view, I'm going to have to try and work out how to stay nice and fresh,” said the Australian opener further.
