The Real Madrid forward Eden Hazard has opened up about how badly he and Carlo Ancelotti got along. Due to injuries and inconsistent play, Hazard has had a difficult time in the Spanish Capital. The former Chelsea winger is battling to regain the form that made Real Madrid pay €100 million for him in 2019.

The 32-year-old has expressed unhappiness about his lack of first-team involvement with Los Blancos due to Ancelotti's decision to keep him out of the starting lineup. Despite being in good physical condition, he is yet to participate in a single minute of LaLiga or Champions League action since returning from the World Cup.

'I have to have respect a guy like Ancelotti' – Eden Hazard

"I would like to stay. I've always said that. I hope to play and to show that I can still do it. People have doubts; that's normal, I understand. But for me, I'm still here next year. You never know, but a transfer is not in my plan. There's respect between Ancelotti and I. But I'm not going to say we talk to each other because we don't. But there will always be respect. I have to have respect a guy like Ancelotti. For what he represents for football and for what he's done in his career," Hazard said.

In addition to discussing the circumstances, Hazard acknowledged that missing out on playing for Real Madrid significantly impacted his choice to end his international career with Belgium. As Hazard reaches the final year of his contract, Real Madrid is willing to sell him this summer. Nevertheless, the possibility of another expensive free transfer departure next summer is a cause for concern for the Royal White club.

Real Madrid are currently placed second in LaLiga with 56 points off 25 games, nine behind leaders and arch-rivals FC Barcelona. In European football, they are paired up against Liverpool in the round of 16 and have established a three-goal lead after their spectacular comeback from two goals down to win 5-2 at Anfield.
