Newcastle legend Alan Shearer gave a hilarious response to the speculation about Bayern Munich's bid to sign Harry Kane. The German club has offered a whopping 60 million euros to the Tottenham superstar to join them. However, reports suggest that Kane immediately rejected the offer and has decided to continue his ongoing contract.

Even though Kane only has one year left on his deal, getting him out of the Spurs will be difficult. According to various sources, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will seek at least £100 million from any Premier League club to sell his primary asset, and it looks that abroad clubs may be required to pay a similar sum.

If Kane stays in the Premier League, he will undoubtedly surpass Shearer as the league's all-time leading goalscorer. He is presently ranked second, having surpassed Wayne Rooney in the 2022–23 season. In response to rumours of Kane potentially joining Bayern Munich, Shearer made a humorous comment, saying he would do anything to defend his record.

"If Harry wants to join Bayern, I'll drive his f***ing car there myself; anything to protect my Premier League goalscoring record of 260, Harry is on 213. In truth, any hope it is probably forlorn. Harry is nearly 30, but he looks after himself; he's steered clear of major injuries, and he's perfectly capable of coming back to England in a couple of years' time and banging in enough goals to overtake me. Still, though. Give me the keys and a sat-nav, and off I'll go", Shearer wrote in a column.

Will Harry Kane end his trophy drought in Bundesliga?

It's worth noting that if Kane decides to move to the Bundesliga, it might help him win his first championship. Bayern Munich has won the Bundesliga title every year since 2012. Meanwhile, in order to rope Kane in, Bayern is trying really hard.

Bayern is making a concerted effort to capture Kane, who has also been linked with transfers to Manchester United and Real Madrid. Former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel sees Kane as the ideal successor for Robert Lewandowski, who joined Barcelona last year. Despite Tottenham's assurance that Kane is not for sale, Bayern Munich is preparing a new £80 million approach for him.
