After Manchester City's first Champions League triumph coach Pep Guardiola came up with an ironic message for Real Madrid. Madrid who have won UCL the most number of times failed to qualify for the finals this year. Speaking about this Guardiola warned the 14-time champions and said that Manchester City will catch them soon.

"Be careful Real Madrid, we’re 13 UCLs away but we’re coming for you. We are on our way! If you sleep a little bit, we will catch you", says Guardiola after winning the trophy third time as manager. Notably, Rodri's game-winning goal came in the 68th minute. Inter had several good opportunities to tie the game. Manchester City kept their lead and became the first team in history to win the European Cup.

Over the last two seasons, Manchester City has faced Real Madrid in some great Champions League clashes. Guardiola's men defeated Los Blancos 4-3 in the first leg of their semi-final in 2021, but were defeated in dramatic circumstances at the Santiago Bernabeu. This season was a total 180-degree turn. The two teams drew 1-1 in Spain thanks to nearly identical screamers from Vinicius Junior and Kevin De Bruyne before Man City demolished the reigning champions 4-0 at the Etihad Stadium.

Pep Guardiola has decided his exit from Manchester City

After clinching the Champions League trophy, Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is set to depart from the Etihad Stadium in upcoming years. Pep Guardiola has decided he will leave Manchester City in 2025 when his contract expires. Guardiola signed new terms last year that will keep him at the Etihad Stadium for another two years, yet it is alleged that he has all but resolved to leave the Citizens when his current contract expires.

After managing Catalan heavyweights Barcelona and German club Bayern Munich, the former Spanish international is thought to be interested in leading an international team. The 52-year-old has won the Premier League in five of his seven years in England, as well as two FA Cups, four League Cups, and, most recently, the UEFA Champions League. Rodri's second-half goal helped City win the domestic treble by defeating Inter Milan 1-0 in the final on Saturday.
