India is a country where cricketers are loved to an extent one can’t even imagine. People make cricketers their God and even pray to them. Some paint themselves with their favourite cricketers’ names and jersey numbers and never miss out on an opportunity to watch them live. This land of cricket fanatics can go to any extent to meet their stars and get a picture with them.

Sharing one such incident, IAS officer Awanish Sharan took to Twitter to share a pic of former Indian captain MS Dhoni with his two fans and wrote “Why Dhoni is Loved.”

Explaining the moment in the photograph, a user wrote “Dhoni was travelling from Ranchi to Lapung when two fans spotted him in his car and requested for a photograph with him. Dhoni got out of his car and happily obliged to get clicked with the fans. This is what makes him different from others.”

The entire cricketing fraternity is celebrating the 41st birthday of MS Dhoni today as wishes are pouring in for the Indian legend from all parts of the world. Dhoni is known for his humbleness with his fans.

Dhoni is India’s most successful limited-overs captain. He began his captaincy stint during the inaugural 20-20 world cup and went on to lift the trophy. He further led India to many tournament victories such as the CB series in Australia and Asia Cup. In 2011, MS Dhoni added another feather in his cap by leading India to victory in the ODI World Cup.

Dhoni won another major trophy as captain in 2013 when he led the team in their victorious Champions Trophy 2013 campaign. The Indian team remained unbeaten throughout the tournament and eventually lifted the trophy.

He further holds many batting records in international cricket. He has also left fans amazed with his excellent catches and lightning-fast stumpings from behind the stumps. Dhoni will be seen playing for the Chennai franchise in the 2023 Indian T20 League.
