Ryan Burl is one of the players to watch out for in upcoming India tour of Zimbabwe series. The southpaw has been an integral part of the Zimbabwe team for many years now. The left-handed batter will look to do well against India and win the series for his national team.
Ahead of the series, Burl has said to the Times of India that he sees himself in Rishabh Pant. The 28-year-old added that he feels confident about defeating India and said that his team has all potential to upset KL Rahul and Co. The Men in Blue will go down as favorites to win the series. And chances are high that the Indian team might whitewash the Regis Chakabva-led team. However, Ryan Burl thinks otherwise.
In an interaction with Times of India, Burl said that he'll outdo Pant if he gets a bit of the Delhi batter's brain. When asked if there are any players who inspire him from the Indian team, Burl replied that he tries to emulate Rishabh Pant.
"To be honest, I am going to mention Rishabh Pant. I kind of see myself in him. Probably quite short, stocky, left-handers that like to hit the ball. I'd definitely like to pick his brain for a bit, hopefully, and obviously try and outdo him in the boundary count. We'll see how it goes," Burl said.
The Marondera-born batter added that the Zimbabwe team will target all of India's men. He believes that his team can upset India and go on to win the series. The left-handed batter added that the team will be happy to target and bag all ten wickets.
"All 10 of them (in a match). I don't think there's just one or two. That's obviously the talent and the depth that Indian cricket has got so I can't really pick one or two. I'd say I'll be happy to get all 10," he added.
The Indian Cricket Team have reached Harare ahead of the ODI series. KL Rahul will lead the side, once again, after a brief break from the sport. With a perfect blend of experience and youth, the Indian Cricket Team will look to gain some confidence ahead of the Asia Cup 2022.
