MS Dhoni, one of the finest captains that India has ever witnessed, opened up on his school life during a Q&A session at a school. Justifiably, the former skipper was one of the most brilliant minds and he upheld it by winning three major trophies for India.
Reflecting upon his school life, Dhoni admitted that he was an average student and said that his father doubted if he would clear the Class 10 Board exams. However, the 2011 World Cup-winning captain did clear all the exams and went on to become a Train Ticket Collector.
“I was very happy. My father thought that I am not passing <10th board exam>. He was like, it’s gone, I will have to repeat, but he was very happy that I passed,” Dhoni said during the Q&A session in a school.
Does sport qualify as a subject?: Dhoni
On being asked about his favourite subject in school, Dhoni questioned if sports would qualify as a subject. The former skipper further added that he did not attend many of the classes because of his involvement with sports.
“Does sport qualify as a subject?
“My attendance was very low because I was playing throughout. So, it was tough for me, but I was an average student. In fact, in Class 10 boards, there were chapters I had no clue about. So, I had no idea what to write if a question came from that particular chapter. That how bad it was,” he added.
The 41-year-old has been busy of late with launching products. Recently, Dhoni relaunched a reputed biscuit brand and a consumer quadcopter drone named ‘Droni’. With the Indian T20 League returning to home and away format this year, it remains to see if Dhoni would bid goodbye after playing at Chepauk this year.
