Mohammed Siraj's amazing numbers of 4/21 helped RCB defeat PBKS by 24 runs in their IPL 2023 match on Thursday. He was superb with his accurate line and length, making it difficult for Punjab batters to get big runs during his overs.

Harbhajan Singh, a former Indian off-spinner, has praised Royal Challengers Bangalore bowler Mohammed Siraj for his outstanding performance against the Punjab Kings on Thursday at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

"Mohammed Siraj has been absolutely sensational with his line and length and I don't think anyone in world cricket is bowling better than him at the moment. The Siraj of last year and this year have a massive difference as he is not only avoiding leaking runs but is also picking up wickets and terrorizing the batters," Harbhajan said in a video on his YouTube channel.

The lockdown was really important for me: Mohammed Siraj

Siraj's consistency as a bowler was not always this good. He used to frequently leak runs for both the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Indian team. Siraj opened up about the hard work he put in during lockdown to become a more accurate bowler after the game against PBKS.

"The lockdown was really important for me because I used to get hit for boundaries very often before that. I worked on my plans, my fitness and my bowling and it's all paying dividends now. I always try to improve in every department of the game because I understand it is important to contribute in whichever way possible," he said at the post-match presentation after receiving the Player of the Match award.

Siraj's powerplay wickets have been one of the key reasons why RCB have been able to limit the opposition's run-flow in most IPL 2023 games. With 12 wickets in six games so far, Siraj currently holds the Purple Cap for most wickets in the season. As for RCB, they currently stand fifth in the points table with three wins in six games.
