India did not get the result they wanted against Pakistan in the Super Four clash of the Asia Cup 2022. Albeit the Indian openers and Virat Kohli played decent knocks on their parts, the middle-order fell apart. The Men in Blue have their share of injury woes as Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out.

Avesh Khan reportedly missed out on the match due to a fever. Pakistan batters played out the bowlers of the Men in Blue and clinched the win pretty easily. Many critics and former cricketers have opined that the Indian playing XI is not consistent. It is fact given that they have had seven captains this year.

The president of the Indian cricket board Sourav Ganguly earlier clarified that they had to change captains due to situations. Recently, Shoaib Akhtar went on to criticize Team India for their inconsistent selection. On his YouTube channel, he said that the Indian team management must take a look at their playing XI.

India should decide what should be their final XI: Shoaib Akhtar

The former Pakistan cricketer slammed the Indian team and was puzzled about the inconsistency. Needless to say, India was praised for their consistent team selection in the MS Dhoni era. However, the tables have turned now and the Indian players getting ruled out due to injury has become a norm.

“India should decide what should be their final XI. Who is your future is it Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Deepak Hooda or Ravi Bishnoi. Find you final XI at least first, because, this is a confused selection from India and I don’t know why is there so much confusion,” said Akthar

Indian brigade will play against Sri Lanka in the second outing in the Super 4 round on Tuesday (September 6). It will be a crucial game for the Men in Blue as they need a win to make a move. With Sri Lanka and Pakistan already clinched their first win, India will look to join them soon on Tuesday.
