Pat Cummins is one of the key bowlers for Australia and the player is proving it with every single match. It is because of his consistency and analytic skill, the fiery pacer was handed over the test captaincy. Clearly, the 29-year-old is in the scheme of things to attain legendary status.

However, speaking of the present, he will have a task to do for Australia in the series against India. Ahead of the series, Pat Cummins opined on the Asia Cup 2022 and said that he missed the entire tournament. Further adding to his statement, the Australian speedster said that only knows of Virat Kohli’s century.

One can assume that any player cannot avoid commenting on Virat Kohli after taking his name in an interview. So did the 29-year-old, who lauded the Indian veteran for his determination and his style of play. Pat Cummins backed up his statement by saying that he knew that the Indian legend would play such a knock at the earliest.

I didn’t see any of it: Pat Cummins

“To be totally honest, I didn’t see any of that tournament (Asia Cup). I think Sri Lanka won? Honestly, I didn’t see any of it. I saw Virat Kohli, I think he scored a hundred, yeah he’s a class player, he was always going to return to form at some point in time. He’s going to be a challenge this next week,” Hindustan Times quoted Pat Cummins as saying.

The Australian further opined on Indian surfaces and enlightened on the challenges that the bowlers face. Acknowledging the smaller boundaries in India, the 29-year-old hoped to adapt to the situation at the earliest.

“I think a lot of games in India are played at a different pace as compared to Australia, the boundaries are normally a bit smaller. I think you need to adapt really quickly, you will have some days where the wicket is a bit slower, then cutters and those types of things are really important for the bowlers,” he said further.

“So, everyone here has played a lot in India and everyone understands it. It is a format you have to be up for, and if it does not work on the day, then you need to move on quickly from it,” Pat Cummins concluded.
