The former Australian cricketer Justin Langer is appointed as the new head coach of Lucknow Super Giants. The former Australian coach has a great record as a coach. In 2021, Langer helped Australia to win their maiden World T20 title. Langer has three titles for Perth Scorchers as a coach in Big Bash League. Australia won the Ashes 4-0 during Langer’s stint with Australia.
The former Australian opener is known for his toughness. Lucknow Super Giants is known for playing tough cricket. The nature of Justin Langer might just suit the way Lucknow players play. But Langer is not known for his management of players. In a dressing room with most of the Indian players, it would be a different challenge for the former Australian Test opener.
As Andy Flower’s stint with Super Giants has come to an end, the franchise has opted for the experienced Langer to be their head coach. With Gautam Gambhir as the mentor of the team, Langer will play a big role in helping the young franchise to evolve.

Speaking about his appointment as the head coach of Lucknow, Langer said “Lucknow Super Giants are on the journey of building a great story in the IPL. We all have a role to play in that journey and I am excited to be a part of the team moving forward.”
