Sanju Samson after playing a game for India in the first ODI against New Zealand has been dropped from the team again. The right-hand batter continues to be overlooked by the selectors. Naturally, fans have been calling for chances to be given to the Trivandrum player.

In the second ODI, Samson was dropped in favour of Deepak Hooda. While Hooda expected to grab the chance with both hands and impress the management, the rain had different plans altogether.

The T20I series between India and New Zealand was washed out and only one game was allowed to reach a conclusion. India had won the match and hence was adjudged the eventual winner of the series.

The ODI series seems to be walking the same path as the T20I as the second match has been affected by rain. One video however that is getting increasingly viral on social media is Sanju Samson helping the ground staff cover up the ground at Hamilton.

Here's the video:

In the video shared by the Rajasthan franchise as well as many others on social media, Samson could be seen holding a part of the cover that had gone rogue due to high winds. The 6 seconds video has been watched by close to 60k people and has been going viral on social media.

Fans in the comments were angry about Samson’s handling by the team management and had some strong words for them. One Twitter user wrote, “Coaches change, selectors change, captains change. But but one thing remains the same “personal agenda” of the Indian cricket board against Samson.”

Harsh to drop after one game- Ashish Nehra

Earlier Ashish Nehra has also spoken about Sanju Samson’s exclusion from the playing XI.

“I hope they haven't picked Deepak Hooda for his bowling. You have Washington Sundar, yes, he bowled well and picked up a few wickets in the T20Is. He's your sixth option, but not a great sixth option. Two changes India have made today, first thing, I don't feel two wrongs make a right because it's not that Shardul Thakur hasn't done well. But before Thakur, it should have been Deepak Chahar. Now you have gone with Thakur and it is harsh to drop after one game,” Nehra had said.
