Indian team Head coach, Rahul Dravid recently gave an interview to Sony Sports Network before the fifth Test between India and England. The ‘wall’ of Indian Cricket was asked by the anchor whether we’ll see another Dravid from the young generation of Indian cricket to which he cheekily replied “Hope not, need to play more shots.”

Rahul Dravid was known for his impeccable defensive technique as a batsman. He’s one of the top batters in the world at no 3 position. He also holds the record for facing most no of balls in Test cricket with 31,258 to his name. While batting, Dravid would make life hell for the bowlers as he used to stay for long hours at the crease.

The Indian head coach is the fourth-highest run-scorer of all time in Test cricket with 13,288 runs to his name in 164 matches. The batter has an outstanding record in England, averaging 68.8. He scored 1376 runs in 13 matches against the Three Lions. He also led the Indian team to a Test Series victory in 2007 which was also the last time India won a series in England.

Dravid also led India to a series victory in the West Indies after 35 years in the year 2006. This was India’s second Test series victory ever in the West Indies. Dravid also holds the record for the most catches by a fielder in Test cricket, grabbing the ball safely 210 times in his career.

Dravid had been nurturing the young talent in the country as the coach of the U-19 team before taking up the responsibility of the senior team.

The ‘wall’ of Indian cricket will be looking for a good batting performance from team India as they’re on the verge of winning a Test series on English soil after 15 years. India are currently leading the 5 match series by a 2-1 margin and a win or a draw could seal the series win for India.
