One of the greatest players in the history of cricket, Virat Kohli is everyone's favorite for his batting prowess and has a huge fan following. The former Indian captain went through the worst patch of his career in the last few years but has made a huge comeback and remains an inspiration to all. Kohli is adored not only in India but all over the world and many consider him as their idol.

Meanwhile, a recent video of Brazil women's cricket team captain Roberta Moretti Avery is now going viral, showing Kohli's craze in the South American country. Speaking to the media during the India Sports Honours show, Moretti Avery said: "“The person whose name is on everyone’s mouth, the person who everyone looks up to is Virat Kohli."

She also added that former Indian women's cricket team captain Mithali Raj and bowling all-rounder Shikha Pandey are "great role models".

The fourth edition of India Sports Honours was organized on March 23 in Mumbai. The Sports Honors are annual awards presented by the RPSG Group in association with the Virat Kohli Foundation to the best sportspersons from India.

Celebrity couples Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli and Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh added glamour to the event on Thursday. Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Rhea Chakraborty, Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi were also present.

'Staying away from the game helped me': Kohli

Virat Kohli got back into the groove after scoring his maiden T20I century against Afghanistan in last year's Asia Cup. The 34-year-old later scored centuries in ODIs as well. However, he struggled to find form in red-ball cricket, but shut his critics by smashing his 28th Test ton against Australia in the final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

Kohli will next be seen in the red jersey playing for the Bangalore franchise in the 2023 Indian T20 League starting on March 31. He is currently with the team and will begin their ITL campaign on April 2 against Mumbai.

"It was just about rediscovering the love for the game. That could happen when I stepped away from what was happening on the field for so long. I was trying to find ways when I was exhausted. I needed to connect with myself as a human first, not judge myself constantly or keep myself under scrutiny all the time. Staying away from the game helped me. That helped me rediscover my excitement and love for the game. When I came back, everything was an opportunity; there was no pressure," Kohli said ahead of ITL 2023.
