Joe Root, who's at the peak of his form, has backed Jos Buttler to become a great captain of England's limited over's side. The English batter has come out in support of Jos Buttler after the latter lost the first ODI against South Africa. The classy English batter has assured that the attacking wicket-keeper batter might well become a great leader in the near future. Jos Buttler is yet to make an impact as a captain but Root has immense faith in Buttler's leadership qualities.

"I know Jos has a great cricket mind, he understands this game brilliantly. He's going to be a great captain. And I don't think these results are a fair reflection on the way that he's going about his business as a leader," Root said. Joe Root added that the aggressive batter will do all he can to bring glory to England. Last Tuesday, England lost to South Africa by 62 runs.

Meanwhile, the star all-rounder, Ben Stokes, recently, announced his retirement from ODI cricket. And it is now up to the wicket-keeper batter, Jos Buttler, to take responsibility and turn the fortunes around for the team. Root's encouraging statement would have given some confidence to England's new white-ball captain. Buttler has been in stupendous form in white-ball cricket and is appreciated for his tenacity.

However, the batter failed to emulate the same aggression, since he has taken over as the captain. He was dismissed for just 12 runs in the first ODI against South Africa. The English brigade will do all it takes to avenge South Africa in the next ODI. In the absence of Stokes, the English team will expect someone to take up the role. Joe Root confessed that every player from the squad must evolve as a leader.

With a series of matches ahead, the England fans and the cricketing fans would love to see the best of Jos Buttler. And the batter, on the other hand, would look to improve his game as a captain. Time has to tell if England can bring out their best in the ongoing series.
