The third edition of the Lanka Premier League is all set to start on 1st August 2022. Defending champions and the most successful team in the competition, Jaffna Kings will take on Galle Gladiators in the opening game. The upcoming edition will have 24 matches in total, including 20 first-round games and 4 final-round games.
The R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo will host the first 14 matches of the tournament before the actions moves to MRICS, Hambantota, starting on 13th August 2022.

The T20 franchise tournament in Sri Lanka, the Lanka Premier League held its first season in November 2020. The board successfully conducted the second season in 2021 and is now all set to conduct the third edition from 1st August 2022. As of now, five teams take part in the competition.
