India’s former skipper, Virat Kohli enjoyed a stellar outing in the 20-20 World Cup 2022. He began his campaign by playing the best knock of his T20 international career. Kohli played a match-winning knock of 82 runs in just 53 balls against Pakistan.
In six matches, he scored four half-centuries and finished as the leading-run scorer in the tournament. Kohli amassed 296 runs at an average of 98.66. Kohli endured a rough patch for the last two years, having not managed to score a single century across formats.
He decided to take a short break from the game and marked his return at the Asia Cup 2022. Upon his return, he ended his century drought by notching his first-ever ton in the shortest format against Afghanistan.
Kohli has been in outstanding form, since, and fans will want him to continue his fine run. He will be making his return for the upcoming Bangladesh tour, which will comprise three ODIs and two Tests.
Meanwhile, MS Dhoni will be making his return to the cricket field ahead of the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 League. He will be leading the Chennai franchise for one last season. Last year, he expressed his desire to play his last T20 game in Chennai during the Indian T20 League.
“I have always planned my cricket. My last international game on home turf was in Ranchi. Hopefully, my last T20 will be in Chennai. Whether it is next year or in five years, we don’t know,” Dhoni said.
