The third T20I between India and New Zealand resulted in a tie due to incessant rain. As per the DLS, India needed to make 75 runs in 9 overs and the Men in Blue made just that, and, as a result, the game ended in a draw.

Glenn Phillips and Devon Conway hit respective half-centuries and helped the team reach a competitive score of 160 runs on the board. M Siraj, once again, was brilliant with the ball as he returned with outstanding bowling figures of 4 for 17 in 4 overs. Arshdeep Singh started off badly but ended up picking 4 wickets as well while conceding 37 runs in 4 overs.

India, in reply, were hoping to get a good start from Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant. However, yet again, the duo failed to impress. Rishabh Pant struck two fours for his 5-ball 11-run knock but, once again, couldn’t go on to score a big knock.

Rishabh Pant’s performances in the shortest format continue to disappoint everyone. The fans aren’t really impressed with his selection, especially when the likes of Sanju Samson and Prithvi Shaw are warming the benches.

In the last game, Pant had scored only 6 runs in 13 balls. Pant has a terrific record in ODIs and in Tests. However, the same cannot be said in the T20Is. In 65 matches, he has managed 976 runs at an average of 22.7 and a strike rate of 125.8. Following his dismal outing with the bat in the last T20I against New Zealand, fans have slammed India’s wicket-keeper batter on Twitter and called for his exclusion from the team.

Here's a look at some of the reactions:

Meanwhile, the third match has resulted in a tie, which means India take the series 1-0. The first match was also called off due to rain, while India won the second match by 65 runs. Both teams will now lock horns with each other in a three-match ODI series, starting from 25th November 2022.
