Kuldeep Yadav helped India seal a dominant win against South Africa in the decider of the three-match ODI series on October 11, Tuesday with his fabulous four-wicket haul. However, the wrist spinner’s journey has not been consistent so far and Kuldeep faded out of the radar two years post his international debut in 2017.

Veteran off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who took cognizance of the 27-year-old's performance against the Proteas in the final ODI, said on his YouTube channel that he always rated the wrist spinner highly and lauded him for the ability to bowl in ‘repetitive lengths’.

Ashwin, who is currently with the main-stream Indian squad to take part in the 20-20 World Cup, was impressed with Kuldeep’s economic spell. It was the wrist spinner’s spell that helped India restrict South Africa to just 99 runs in the first innings. For the unversed, the left-arm spin icon conceded only 18 runs in the four overs that he bowled.

"I have always felt this about Kuldeep Yadav when we talk about wrist spinners. He has got this amazing feature to bowl the repetitive lengths that are required to do well in the long format,” Ashwin said on his YouTube channel.

Further, the off-spinner lauded Kuldeep for his ability to bowl at the length that he wants. Ashwin highlighted it was a skill that not every wrist spinner would have. “He can land in a particular spot whenever he wants, and that's a fantastic quality for a wrist spinner. That's a massive value for a wrist spinner,” said the off-spinner further.

India sealed a comfortable win in the third ODI after restricting the Proteas for less than a hundred runs. The team led by Shikhar Dhawan chased down the total with 7 wickets to spare. With regard to India’s batting, it was Shubman Gill who top-scored with the bat with 49 runs.

The Indian skipper, who was happy with the win, said that he was proud of his boys and emblazoned the young guns’ maturity. “I am proud of the boys, the way they played in the series. The way they carried the responsibility and showed maturity. Would like to thank the support staff. We showed a lot of character in the first game, we dropped a few catches, but we never really put pressure on ourselves,” Dhawan said in the post-match interview.
