Antony’s transfer saga went on for weeks as the Brazilian attacker went AWOL from Ajax training, demanding a transfer to Manchester United. The team management finally gave in to his demands and he was allowed to leave for the English club in an £84.5 million deal. The Samba star has taken to the English Premier League with aplomb scoring a goal in his debut match itself.

It would be safe to say that the Brazilian has become somewhat of a fan favourite in his week-long stay at the club. Antony has now come out and admitted his liking for Cristiano Ronaldo, the footballing giant from Portugal who plays for the same club.
Speaking to the club media, Antony said, “I’ve come to help my teammates. Regardless of age, there’s immense talent in all the players.”
The Brazilian footballer seemed awestruck with Ronaldo and said, “Words can’t describe Cristiano, the best in the world.”

“In just a few days, I've learnt a lot from him. He has an extraordinary mind and, whenever I talk to him, I take a lot from it,” said Antony about Ronaldo’s impression on him.
“I'm sure that we have a strong attack and it's very promising for the future, “ concluded Antony about Manchester United’s prospects in the future.
Shuts up showboating critics
Antony has also come under the scanner, particularly from some pundits who didn’t like his showboating against Arsenal. When asked about his showboating he said, "I've always done this," he said, in reference to his skills and tricks. "Not just here but for all the teams I've played for."
"I've been doing it ever since I was a child. I've always done it - it's one of my characteristics."
"I am adapting and getting used to things here already. Entertaining is something I've always liked and I'll continue doing it," vowed Antony on continuing his showboating.
Manchester United got to a poor start this season losing both of their first two matches but soon got back up with wins against arch-rivals Liverpool and Arsenal. They currently sit fifth in the league table.
