Arsenal defeated Chelsea 3-1 in the Premier League contest and it was the setback against the title contenders as it was also Frank Lampard's sixth straight loss since taking over as interim manager in April when Graham Potter was let go, and The Blues are on track to have one of their poorest Premier League campaigns ever.

The 44-year-old, who played for the West Londoners and scored an astonishing 211 goals, is in the hot seat at Stamford Bridge for the second time in his career. He previously served as Chelsea's manager from July 2019 until January 2021. In his first managerial spell, Lampard presided over 84 games from the bench, winning 44, tying 15, and losing 25, giving him a win percentage of 52%, which has now fallen to 49% overall with the six losses this year.

Speaking about Arsenal, the victory lifts the atmosphere at the club after a four-game losing streak and ensures that the title battle is still in play despite what happened at the Etihad Stadium last week, despite the fact that they have played two more games than Pep Guardiola's team.

Players are low on confidence: Frank Lampard

Lampard, who has now lost every game since returning to the dugout, backed the Chelsea players after the game despite yet another subpar showing, but he was less kind of Todd Boehly and the Blues administration.

“Chelsea has been a big success for 20 years but at the moment we aren’t in that position. In the time I’ve been here, it’s clear to see behind the scenes, on the training ground, the reasons why. If you’re going to be a nice team to play against all the time it doesn’t matter where you go. That won’t change overnight but we better get there quickly." Lampard told Sky Sports.

“The passive nature of our game you could attribute to many things. The players certainly care. They are low on confidence, but when you play for Chelsea you have to play a certain way even if you are low on confidence." he added.
