A triple ton in Test Cricket is always a celebrated landmark because such instances come very rarely amidst the hard grind of a Test match. Over five days the batter needs to showcase their skill and show what they are made of, and also accelerate at a good pace according to the game situation.
Virender Sehwag is very celebrated in India as a Test batter because he has scored two triple tons in red ball cricket. For a long time, no other Indian could get to that list, but Karun Nair broke the deadlock when he made his debut in 2016 against England. In the final test of the series in Chennai, he registered an unbeaten knock of 303 runs.
The Karnataka batter took to Twitter to post an emotional message to the cricketing circles saying, "Dear cricket, give me one more chance”. When he scored the triple ton in the final test against England, He became the fastest batter to score a triple hundred with the fewest number of Test matches played. Nair was named the player of the match in that game.
Here is the tweet
Dear cricket, give me one more chance.🤞🏽

Karun Nair was last seen in the Maharaja Trophy
This was his only moment in the sun as from there he did not get enough opportunities and he faded away. He played his last Test match in 2017 and his last ODI in June 2016. In a very short test career, he has played 6 matches and scored 374 runs at an average of 62.33 and a strike rate of 72.91.
He was last seen in the Maharaja T20 Trophy a domestic T20 competition in Karnataka for the Mysuru Warriors. In 12 matches, he hit 257 runs at an average of 23.36 and a strike rate of 146.02. In what was an impressive season for him, he also had a fifty to his name with the highest score being an unbeaten 91 against the Hubli Tigers at Mysore
When Nair tweeted that message, there were a lot of reactions on Twitter, let us take a look at the reactions here-
I remembered you just 2 days ago! I wondered what happened to that guy who scored a triple century but did not jump, or punched in the air...all he did was just smile. It's just unfair to drop someone with such potential 😪

@karun126 You deserve many chances bro. 2nd indian player to make 300 run in test . Big Salute 😘 . But Indian team @BCCI didn't pick you even for a match after that. That is heartbreaking and Questionable 🤔. So many time i speaks about it between my friends.

The only 2nd Indian player in the history of cricket who scored triple century in test, avg 62+, but he got dropped from Indian team just after 6 matches, why?? Some have been playing Test cricket consistently for the last 3 years with an avg of 27. Why this discrimination?

Stay strong, Karun. You will be back. You are still a quality batsman 🤗
