On Thursday, April 13, fans witnessed a thrilling Indian Premier League (IPL) encounter between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings, with the former winning by 6 wickets in the final over. Apart from an exciting game of cricket, the highlight of the evening was PBKS owner Preity Zinta catching up with Titans pacer Mohammed Shami. A picture of the two interacting after the match at the Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali has gone viral on social media.

The Bollywood actress and the veteran Indian pacer are familiar with each other, as the latter, previously, played for the Punjab franchise. Despite PBKS losing back-to-back matches in the ongoing IPL, Preity was seen in joyful mood as she could be seen interacting with Shami, and the duo won the hearts of many.

Shubman Gill, Mohit Sharma powers Titans beat PBKS

The IPL 2023 has now seen back-to-back final over finishes, and yesterday's match between defending champions Titans and PBKS, who are looking for their maiden IPL crown, was a similar type of gripping affair. Chasing a moderate score of 154, Titans were hoping to win the match earlier considering their strong start, but the PBKS bowlers held on to take the game until the second last ball of the final over.

A clinical bowling performance from the Titans bowlers, especially Mohit Sharma, who returned to the cash-rich league with brilliant 2/18 restricted PBKS to 153/8. In reply, Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha got the champions off to an explosive start, hitting 48 runs in 4.4 overs. Saha got dismissed inside the powerplay, but Gill anchored the innings till the final over by scoring 67 off 49 balls.

With seven runs needed off the last over, Titans camp was in a relaxing mood as Gill and David Miller were at the crease. But the most expensive player in IPL history, Sam Curran, stunned the opposition by knocking Gill's off stump in the second delivery. Miller and Rahul Tewatia pushed the game to four runs needed off the final two balls, and the latter completed the chase by scooping a full ball from Curran to the boundary line to secure their third win of the tournament.
