In the world of cricket, all-rounders play a crucial role in a team's success. They possess the ability to contribute both with the bat and ball, making them an invaluable asset. One such player is Hardik Pandya, who has proven his mettle as an all-rounder for the Indian cricket team. However, there have been debates about whether Pandya should be utilized solely as a batter or as an all-rounder in the upcoming World Cup 2023.

Renowned cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar firmly believes that India needs Hardik Pandya as an all-rounder and not just as a batter in the World Cup 2023. Manjrekar argues that Pandya's exceptional skills with both bat and ball make him a game-changer on any given day. His explosive batting style can turn around matches single-handedly, while his medium-fast bowling adds depth to India's bowling attack.

Manjrekar emphasizes that having Pandya as an all-rounder provides flexibility to the team composition. It allows for an additional specialist batsman or bowler to be included in the playing XI without compromising on balance. This becomes particularly crucial in high-pressure tournaments like the World Cup where every decision counts.

Moreover, Pandya's presence as an all-rounder with Jadeja brings stability to India's lower-middle order. His ability to finish innings with big hits gives confidence to other batsmen while providing insurance against potential collapses.

"Hardik Pandya's form is a bit of a concern. He has to do a lot of heavy work at the World Cup. You need him as an all-rounder and not just as a batter. So, you need at least 6-7 overs per game.  When India won the 2011 World Cup, it was because of all-rounders like Yuvraj Singh and Suresh Raina being the batters who could bowl," said Manjrekar while speaking to Star Sports, adding that Jadeja should be back among wickets so should Kuldeep Yadav.
