India lost the 20-20 World Cup semi-final against England by 10 wickets in Adelaide which saw them miss out on yet another World Cup title. The Indian Team have had good campaigns in World tournaments, but they have failed miserably in the knockouts.

This led to former England captain, Michael Vaughan, criticizing India's approach and saying that they need to learn a thing or two about playing T20 cricket from England, who have been a very consistent side in the shortest format of the game and have two titles to their credit.

"India are the most underperforming white-ball team in history. I am just staggered by how they play T20 cricket for the talent they have. They have the players, but just do not have the right process in place. They have to go for it. Why do they give the opposition bowlers the first five overs to bed in?" Vaughan wrote in his column for the Daily Telegraph.

We will rectify our mistakes going forward- Hardik Pandya

India’s next assignment in the T20 format will be against New Zealand and Pandya, who will lead the side in the absence of the senior players, gave a hard-hitting reply to the former captain.

"Obviously when you don't do well, people will have their opinion, which we respect. I understand people have different points of view. Being at the international level, I don't think we need to prove anything to anyone. It's a sport, you keep trying to get better and eventually when the result is supposed to happen it will happen. There are things we need to work on, going forward we will rectify and work on it,"

The next 20-20 World Cup will be held in two years in the West Indies and the USA. The Indian Team could go through a phase of transition in the shortest format and the T20 side could have a whole new look. Many of the senior players, who are on the wrong side of 30s, could call it quits from the T20 format.
