'Har series ke naye vice captain' - Fans react to India captain Rohit Sharma interviewing vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane

Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane have been two of the most experienced players in Indian cricket. The current Test captain and vice-captain have played a lot of cricket together for both India and their domestic team Mumbai. The two Mumbai cricketers share a great bond with each other.

As the Indian team is on the tour of the West Indies, Rahane and Rohit worked on their batting and practised for the Test series. After the practice session, the two senior members of the team arrived for the interview session.

Rahane was asked about his opinion on the phase where he made a comeback to the side at the age of 35 and is appointed back as the vice-captain of the Test side for the new cycle of the World Test Championship. “At this age in the sense, I am still young !!” said the Indian Test vice-captain to the interviewer as Rohit had a laugh about the reply of Rahane. “I will try to fulfil the role given to me by Rohit Sharma,” continued Rahane.

Rohit took over the role of interviewing and asked Rahane about his role in advising the youngsters having played a lot of cricket in the West Indies and scored a lot of runs in the land of the Caribbean. “As a young batter, one must be very patient,” Rahane replied to Rohit.

The Indian captain further asked Rahane about the necessity to focus on cricket in an environment like that of the Indian team. “It is important to focus on the present” replied Rahane. As rain arrived, Rohit, Rahane, and others went back from the ground towards the dressing rooms.

The first Test of the series is set to begin on the 12th of July in Dominica. Indian team revealed its jersey for the series and a lot of players posted their images in the team jersey on their social media accounts. The result of the series is crucial for India’s chances in the World Test Championship of the 2023-25 cycle.
